A novel by a local Catholic author has received second place in the Catholic Media Association’s 2021 Book Awards “Catholic Novels – Inspirational” category.
“The Bird and the Bees” was written by Neena Gaynor, a local author and parishioner of St. Stephen Cathedral in Owensboro. Released in April 2020 by Scrivenings Press, “The Bird and the Bees” is a Christian romance suspense novel set in the foothills of Appalachia.
Gaynor said in a press release that, “No writer dreams of releasing their debut novel during a global pandemic, but I can’t help but think God was able to use this story of hope and redemption during some different, difficult days. I pray it’s a blessing to all who read it.”
