The Ursuline Sisters want to thank all the parishioners who have used the Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center to deepen their spiritual needs the past 38 years. Unfortunately, the Retreat Center is facing some insurmountable physical issues, which has led the Sisters to determine that it must be deconstructed. The original building – the former Mount Saint Joseph Academy – is 147 years old. The bricks are disintegrating, and the foundation is crumbling. There are other issues as well that make the building unsafe. The cost of trying to repair the issues is extreme. The gymnasium is not affected by this decision and will remain available for day programs. The Ursuline Sisters will be discussing how to move forward with the spirituality ministry in the coming months. Your prayers are appreciated.
