Rosary Chapel decorated ‘above and beyond’ to celebrate Pentecost Sunday

BY DORIS POAT, SPECIAL TO THE WESTERN KENTUCKY CATHOLIC

Paducah’s Rosary Chapel enjoyed a beautiful and meaningful Pentecost Sunday on June 8, 2025, to commemorate the fulfillment of Jesus’ promise that the Holy Spirit would descend on his followers after his Ascension. His apostles then began their ministry in public after this official birth of the Catholic Church.

The church was decorated for all the glory of the occasion. Rosary Chapel is always filled with creative arrangements of various materials, thanks to Yvonne Crowdus, but she went above and beyond for Pentecost. The adornments throughout the whole church were stunning and creative. The efforts of Yvonne, the choir, lectors and our pastor Fr. Jude Okeoma’s uplifting homily made Pentecost Mass a very special day for the parishioners.
