Youth 2000 celebrates 29 years of encountering Christ in the Eucharist

From March 13-15, 2026, young people gathered from all over the Diocese of Owensboro to attend a beloved annual youth retreat that has been offered for 29 years. The retreat, called Youth 2000 due to its founding as the world approached the third millennium, is hosted at Brescia University in Owensboro and is led by the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, through the efforts of the diocese’s Marian Shrine Committee and the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry. Featuring talks, panels, music, Mass, confession, and Adoration, Youth 2000 drew approximately 594 registrations this year.
