BY SHERI BABBS, SPECIAL TO THE WESTERN KENTUCKY CATHOLIC
Cooper Richison, son of AJ and Miranda Richison, celebrated earning his Eagle Rank through Scouting America with a Court of Honor at St. Thomas More Parish in Paducah on March 8. Cooper, a senior at St. Mary High School, refurbished and upgraded the memorial for deceased staff and teachers on the St. Mary High School grounds. The project included cleaning of the monument, the addition of a St. Joseph statue, and adding pavers to accentuate the memorial.
Cooper started his scouting career with Pack 2007 and progressed through the ranks to complete his Eagle Rank with Troop 2007. St. Thomas More in Paducah is the charter organization for Pack 2007 and Scout 2007. Cooper has served Troop 2007 as the Senior Patrol Leader and guided the troop through an explosion of growth. Cooper exemplifies the Scout Slogan of “Do a good turn daily.” Cooper will attend Universal Technical Institute in Mooresville, North Carolina, in the fall.
